Lavender Moons of Cha'alt [Kickstarter]

 

I've been spending an inordinate amount of time and energy on this weekend's VENGER CON III convention.  But I also don't want to neglect my Kickstarter for a second Cha'alt webcomic.  The first being Under Fuchsia Ska'ai.

Jae Tanaka is doing the artwork and layout, I'm coming up with the story and words.  To help promote our crowdfunding campaign and to mark this momentous occasion of President Trump narrowly avoiding assassination by divine intervention, I present to you Jae Tanaka's latest piece "Fight the Federation!"

I know webcomics aren't everybody's cup of tea, but this can easily be used to create an adventure or enhance your campaign setting.  If nothing else, it grows Cha'alt... which is a benefit in and of itself.

Under Fuchsia Ska'ai & Gary Con

 

I'll be heading to Gary Con tomorrow morning!

Today, I'll be making preparations... just like I've been doing for the last few days (crafted an original adventure just for the con).  Creating this blog post has been on my mind for awhile, so let's get to it.

Below is issue #2 of Under Fuchsia Ska'aki, the Cha'alt webcomic I'm making with Jae Tanaka.  Here is issue #1 and a mid-issue insert.

What else?  Well, I'll be running Cha'alt at Gary Con.  I think all my sessions are full, but still say "Hi."  And if you want to buy some hardcover Cha'alt books direct from me, I'll have a few on-hand and ready to sign.

As a fun little bonus, I'm offering Encounter Critcial III for FREE all weekend!  If you liked Crimson Dragon Slayer D20, you'll definitely get a kick out of EC3, it's sister-game.

I'll blog about my experiences when I get back on Sunday (plus, there'll be a new episode of Inappropriate Characters to livestream on YouTube).  I will also be tweeting about the convention and might make a video or two, as well.

Under Fuchsia Ska'ai

 

So, this is the first issue of Under Fuchsia Ska'ai.  A webcomic that takes place in Cha'alt, my eldritch, gonzo, science-fantasy, post-apocalyptic campaign setting.  

Neckbeardia made a video review of both Cha'alt and The Good Syma'arian.  Very entertaining!

Cha'alt WebComic - Under Fuchsia Ska'ai

 

While I would love a feature film, followed by a sequel, prequel, and subsequent blockbuster movie trilogy... or even a TV series (animated or live-action, I'm not picky).  For the moment, I'm happy to be working on a humble, yet supra-awesome webcomic for my beloved Cha'alt.

For those who don't know, Cha'alt is an eldritch, gonzo, science-fantasy, post-apocalyptic campaign setting.  Interested in the gorgeous hardcover trilogy?  It's a reward tier for backing Advanced Game Mastering Like A Fucking Boss.

Anyways, Under Fuchsia Ska'ai is a webcomic drawn by Jae Tanaka (follow him @TanakaOSR and me at @VengerSatanis) and written by yours truly.  On the right is a promo to whet your appetite...

The plan is to create one page (not just a panel) of adventure each month.  To do any more than that requires funds.  I'm not sure where the money will come from... maybe crowdfunding, paywall, or RPG magazine / website that already gets a lot of traffic and is looking for more, perhaps some independent comic-book company will pick it up, or it's entirely possible that Dan Harmon will decide to put his considerable weight (only kidding, hoss) into a post-Rick and Morty spinoff show ensconced in the Cha'alt multiverse?

Yeah, I don't know how we're going to subsidize this thing, let alone monetize it.  All I know is that I want this thing to exist, so I'm going to fund it until a way presents itself.  

The first full-page should drop February 12th.  It's in production right now, and looking cool.  Can't wait for you to read it and see where this all leads...
