The Three Pillars... of Sex

 

This video came up in my feed, and I watched it.  Interesting.  Not my typical fare, but sometimes it's nice to get outside one's comfort zone.

While it was on, I heard one of the women talk about the three pillars of sex.  Obviously, the three pillars caught my attention because of D&D and TTRPGs in general.  I had never heard of three pillars for anything sexual.  Well, what I heard sounded legit, and now I'm going to share them with you.

The three pillars of sex, apparently, are connection, pleasure, and kink.  Ok, why not?  As thoughts were turning over in my mind, I considered the following... if those were truly the three pillars of sex, then it stands to reason, by the power of facts and logic, that all three pillars should be acknowledged when it comes to sex in Cha'alt.  Doesn't have to be Cha'alt, obviously, any TTRPG does the trick.

How would this work, I assume you're asking?  Let's say one of the PCs is about to bed some tavern wench or sultry cave prostitute.  The GM can mention something about their connection, if only briefly, such as "The two of you lock eyes."  And pleasure, "Groknard feels the warm ecstasy of her flesh." Finally, kink... "She looks at your hands, thinks for a moment, and then asks you to put your thumb inside her chocolate starfish."

That's just what came to me in the moment, typing this blog post, but you get the idea.  Many, many times I've wondered, in these circumstances, exactly what to focus on, which notes to hit, how many?  Am I missing something?  Is this too much?

The three pillars seems to clear all that up.  It's a formula, nothing written in stone, but I think it's low-key brilliant, and I look forward to using it in the near future.  Also, now that you know the categories, you can prep a few erotic baubles so you're not starting from scratch.
