Alpha Blue Influences
I've talked about the sexy, sleazy, late-night, cult classic movies from the 70's and 80's that inspired a lot of the Alpha Blue action we've come to know and love.
I've also mentioned old school RPGs that had their share of inspiration, like WEG Star Wars, Encounter Critical, Paranoia, and maybe even Toon and Tales from the Floating Vagabond (even though my only exposure to that game was advertisements in Dragon Magazine).
But re-reading the WTF D&D!? section over at Something Awful, I realized the cheesy, silly, inappropriate, Star Wars ripoff, and terrible on purpose actual play reports (pretty sure these aren't actual play reports) most likely influenced me and had an impact on the creation of Alpha Blue - possibly Kort'thalis Publishing's most successful RPG line.
Here is part 1 and this is part 2. Drink in their delicious stupidity, laugh your ass off (as I did, but not everyone is going to find them funny), and become wiser in the knowledge that another piece of the Alpha Blue origin puzzle has been completed!

p.s. Battle Star: Trek Wars is available right now over at DriveThruRPG. It's 70+ pages of sleazy sci-fi awesomeness!
