Boycott Gencon and Origins

Yes, I think it's time to fight fire with fire.  Cancel Gen Con, Origins, and every other institution supporting cultural Marxism.

Things have been off the rails for awhile.  A reckoning was coming... if you couldn't see it on the horizon, it's probably because you tried your darnedest to shut out all politics from your gaming spaces.  Doesn't matter, radical-leftism infiltrated gaming culture years ago!

Well, the fight has come to you.  The new TSR has been banned from the biggest gaming conventions in the world.  Pretty soon, we won't have those spaces left.  It'll just be a barren landscape of woke dominance.  Capitulating to the SJW crowd will eventually get you a dirt covered knee to go along with your severed head.

We need to fight back while we still can.  Wait too much longer, and it's game over... literally.

For mobile phone users, the link to my latest video is right here.

Have something to say?  Say it here.  The freedom of expression still exists on this blog.  Thanks!

  1. I followed this new TSR thing pretty closely, textbook "storm in a teacup". The real trouble seemed to come when Justin Lanasa refused to kowtow. Apparently he's a tattooed gun-toting all-American type and that didn't sit well with the sjw mob.

It got me to thinking though, regardless of the reason...New TSR, Ken St.Andre, Judges Guild, countless others...even their own, Zak Smith. The endgame seems to be total subversion and presumably elimination. I'm not convinced these folks really game even, it's just a woke community to them and it will ultimately destroy the very hobby they are claiming to be purifying.

Between you and me, I haven't bought an official D&D product since before TSR was bought out and with so much great OSR stuff out there I'm not even mining 5E for modules. I stopped going to conventions when they added all the "fandom" in the 90's.

I have noticed a disturbing trend in recent OSR products though, even the ones not written or illustrated by woke folks are now starting to put virtue-signalling sjw disclaimers: "The author and his collaborators wish to emphasize their stand against all forms of hate, violence and discrimination."...dude, other than fighting orcs with battle axes, this has nothing to with the book this disclaimer is on. I'm worried authors and artists now feel that to even enter the market they have to put disclaimers on stuff. Which means we'll start losing decent content, if that becomes the case.

    1. All I know of Justin Lanasa is what's been screenshot over on Tenkar's Tavern. "Not flattering" was my immediate takeaway. Maybe he's actually cool, I don't know.

But banning people and companies from gaming conventions for their personal and/or political beliefs is both asinine and dangerous. This is not the America we know, this is closer to Communist China. What's your social credit rating, comrade?

Perhaps the sane still amongst us should have disclaimers on our products stating that we're not part of the inclusivity, diversity, and equity woke mob that cares more about activism than armor class?

    2. From what I've seen and read online Lanasa seems like a very cool guy to me. Tattoos, guns, America, D&D *and* he's pissing off the SJW's...he gets my vote.

But I agree with you here, politics shouldn't be a part of it. There's a great deal of art that I love whose artists have politics I'm sure that I hate and I'm fine with that. Gaming has always been that way for me, all are welcome but leave reality at the door. In 40+ years, I've played with all kinds of people, from all walks of life, from felons to drill sergeants, cowboys to scientists, Methodists to Satanists, Irish to Ethiopian and *none* of that mattered...we were gamers, leaving reality behind.

Beautifully put, "caring more about activism than armor class". It would cause major controversy, but I for one would buy works with a disclaimer like that, precisely because of it. I do know a lot of people have been asking for a list of game companies that specifically aren't woke and that might be a good way to go about that. But again, it would be courting trouble...it's raising a kind of flag.
